The Green Amendment: Senate Bill S2072

Amends the NY State Consitution's Bill of Rights to include a right to clean air and water and a healthful environment.

Freedom From Fossil Fuels Act: S5200A and A7479

Halts the build-out of any new fossil fuel infrastructure in New York. Requires changes in the state energy law to change the composition of the state energy board to include experts in environmental justice, energy planning, etc. RequireS that energy planning in the state be guided by a master plan to ensure the goals of the CLCPA are achieved.

School District Renewable Energy: Senate Bill (Former S5099)/ Assembly Bill A3446

 Extends the time period from eighteen years to twenty-five years that a school shall be guaranteed recovery of energy performance contract costs from energy savings incurred by school districts over that time period.

Codifying NYS Fracking Ban: S.6906 (Metzger)/A.9678 (Englebright)

  Prohibits horizontal drilling and high-volume hydraulic fracturing.

Renewable Energy Siting: Part JJJ Executive Budget: S.7508-A)/A.9508-A

 Support for reform of renewable energy siting to accelerate the growth of renewable energy facilities necessary to meet New York’s climate action and renewable energy goals.

Plant-Based Food in Schools: S.1472 (Hoylman)/A.1624 (Gottfried)

 Requires public schools to offer plant-based food options in food service.

Electric Vehicle Sales Tax Exemption: A.6434-A (Fahy)/S.3827-A (Metzger)

 Provides an exemption for the sale of the first $35,000 for a battery, electric, or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle from state sales and compensating use taxes; authorizes local governments to elect such incentives.

State Electric Vehicle Fleet: A.7567 (Fahy)/S.5439 (Metzger)

 Relates to the purchase of fuel economy, battery, electric and hybrid passenger vehicles by the office of general services.
